Property Accountant
Covington, KY
Corporex is searching for a Property Accountant to join the team overseeing our growing real estate portfolio in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky market. The Property Accountant supports the Property Management Controller and the Property Management team in carrying out all property accounting related functions for the portfolio. Essential Job Duties:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements and reports for multiple properties
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries and expense accruals
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and assist in the preparation of audit workpapers
- Assist in annual budget preparation and reforecasting for property portfolio
- Assist in annual CAM reconciliation process
- Accounts Receivable duties including posting tenant charges and payments, communicating with commercial billing contacts, tracking and managing all receivables, conducting periodic Accounts Receivables meetings, and making bank deposits
- Process weekly check runs
- Maintain accounting related checklists, processes and logs
- Track purchase orders, complete monthly reconciliation of outstanding purchase orders for accruals.
- Maintain a working knowledge of assigned properties, leases and management agreements
- Assist Property Accounting team in responding to tenant and owner requests for financial information
- Administration duties as needed
Skills, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 2+ years of property accounting experience
- Knowledge of GAAP, FASB and real estate accounting
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel
- Yardi experience a plus
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and process
